Jubileeeeeeeee
have i already told you?
even if so,
again, again, again!
Dereck Jarmann-1977 England-
the truly true of punkPunK.
the girl style strong i like
Amel Nitrate, Mad, Crabs,,,
im using two clips in my Theatre history pres.
Ballerina dancing round a Bonfire
(unlike your usual twig, more fully figured)
with two guys in masks in the backround
one as MichealAngelo's David-so,,, Neked
throwing books into the fire
the burning Union Jack...
ect.
This projected behind English Landowners
in a hunting party going nutso,
as if dancing around in costume
playing with fire
they are taking advantage of
the land its peopleand its resources
killing for fun-all the stag, the grouse, the salmon
in excesssss-for fun is fun.
but in contrast with the imagery
Jubilee is a lark on taking the english powernuts seriously,
pee on the monarchy
(strange- this all seems to rhyme?)
it is the after affect of the english power suppressing the people...
doing a reversal.
the other scene (1850) is the Duke of somewhere
coming to ask the people of the highlands to
come fight for the Queen of E.
to defend against the Tsar of Russia
no one will volunteer-
because
"we have no land to fight for you took our land and gave it to the sheep...
since you prefer sheep to men let sheep defend you!"
behind this is Amel Nitrate
wearing a mini dress of the Union Jack
neon green stalkings held with garters
a roman helmet with mohawk of feathers
face painted very abstract punkness
feather fan
and very transparent pantees yes...
doing a lip synch to Hail Britania remixed by Brian Eno
let the Queen of E. defend themselves...
